چکیده
In this study, we use low-coverage shotgun sequencing of genomic DNA, commonly referred to as genome skimming, investigate the phylogenetic relationships fungus gnat genus Allodia Winnertz (Mycetophilidae, Mycetophilinae, Exechiini). Nineteen specimens, representing 16 in-group and three outgroup taxa, were successfully sequenced molecular markers both mitochondrial nuclear origin retrieved. The analyses 13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal genes 18S 28S strongly support monophyly its subgenera s.s. Brachycampta. Complete genomes 15 species assembled, which enables further comparisons with other Diptera. Overall, methodology used in study proved successful promising for dipteran groups. addition reconstruction, morphological characters previously separate evaluated re-examined. Together composite structure male genitalia, consider details scutal bristles appropriate separating Based on achieved results, reinstate Brachycampta stat. rev. a genus.

Molecular phylogeny of three desert truffles from Iran based on ribosomal genome
The ITS region including the 5.8S gene of rDNA of three desert truffle species were amplified using ITS4 and ITS1 primers. The ITS sequences were compared to those of other related authentic sequences obtained from GenBank. Among 12 specimens studied, seven isolates corresponded to Terfezia claveryi reported by other authors. Iranian T. claveryi specimens had an average similarity of 99.4% (ran...
متن کاملGenome skimming by shotgun sequencing helps resolve the phylogeny of a pantropical tree family.
Whole genome sequencing is helping generate robust phylogenetic hypotheses for a range of taxonomic groups that were previously recalcitrant to classical molecular phylogenetic approaches. As a case study, we performed a shallow shotgun sequencing of eight species in the tropical tree family Chrysobalanaceae to retrieve large fragments of high-copy number DNA regions and test the potential of t...
متن کاملGenome Rearrangement Phylogeny Using Weighbor
Evolution operates on whole genomes by operations that change the order and strandedness of genes within the genomes. This type of data presents new opportunities for discoveries about deep evolutionary rearrangement events. Several distance-based phylogenetic reconstruction methods have been proposed [12, 21, 19] that use neighbor joining (NJ) [16] with the expected breakpoint or inversion dis...
متن کاملMolecular phylogeny of Ephippidae (Actinopteri: Acanthuriformes)
The family Ephippidae consists of eight genera and 15 species. The genus Platax with five species distributed throughout Indo-Pacific, seemingly has more diversity than other genera of the family. Phylogenetic relationships among species and genera of the family, however, are not fully resolved. 48 sequences of eight species (four genera) of batfishes are available in the GenBank and have been ...
متن کاملA Molecular Phylogeny of Hemiptera Inferred from Mitochondrial Genome Sequences
Classically, Hemiptera is comprised of two suborders: Homoptera and Heteroptera. Homoptera includes Cicadomorpha, Fulgoromorpha and Sternorrhyncha. However, according to previous molecular phylogenetic studies based on 18S rDNA, Fulgoromorpha has a closer relationship to Heteroptera than to other hemipterans, leaving Homoptera as paraphyletic. Therefore, the position of Fulgoromorpha is importa...
